HMC The Robertson Bereavement Center
The Robertson Bereavement Center offers a range of grief services and support for families who have lost a loved one, regardless of whether hospice care was used. One of only three full service bereavement centers in Northeast Ohio, this important community outreach effort was opened in 1995 and is named after benefactors Preston and Katherine Robertson. Since no two people grieve with the same intensity or duration of time, The Robertson Bereavement Center offers:
• Supportive counseling sessions – individual or family (for all ages)
• Crisis response and intervention
• Resource lending library
Circle of Friends
Since 1995, a group of people, ages 60+, have found friendship and an enjoyable evening together each month in Circle of Friends. This social dinner group was formed when participants in a six-week grief education workshop at The Robertson Bereavement Center expressed an interest in continuing their newly-found friendships after the workshop ended.
The mission of "Circle of Friends" is to make new acquaintances, refresh and keep the old, share the past, present and future as we move on physically, spiritually, and emotionally so that we can find a new appreciation for life.
Today, the group has almost 80 members and meets at Weymouth Country Club, 3946 Weymouth Road, Medina, (except for the August picnic) on the second Tuesday of every month for dinner, a program, and, of course, to increase their circle of friends. Dinner is $13 and reservations are not required. Doors open at 5:00 p.m.
Dues are $12 each year. Dues are used to cover expenses for the annual summer picnic and the December Holiday Banquet.

There is always room in the circle for more friends!
In partnership with Medina County District Library and supported by generous donations, The Robertson Bereavement Center maintains a lending library of books, videos and pamphlets on topics related to death, dying and grief. Community members are encouraged to browse and borrow from our extensive collection that offers a wonderful source of information and support. There is no charge to borrow items.
