HMC The Robertson Bereavement Center

The Robertson Bereavement Center, a part of Western Reserve Grief Services, offers a range of grief services and support for families who have experienced the death of a loved one, regardless of whether hospice care was used. The Robertson Bereavement Center opened in 1995 and is named after benefactors Preston and Katherine Robertson.

Western Reserve Grief Services consists of bereavement follow-up for patients for a minimum of 13 months after the death of a loved one. Comprehensive community programming under Western Reserve Grief Services includes grief support groups, camps, retreats, family programs, Healing Arts workshops, art therapy groups, school services, education, training and resources. Crisis response in the community remains a vital resource offered by Western Reserve Grief Services to the schools and communities at large.

Circle of Friends

Since 1995, a group of people, ages 60+, have found friendship and an enjoyable evening together each month in Circle of Friends. This social dinner group was formed when participants in a six-week grief education workshop at The Robertson Bereavement Center expressed an interest in continuing their newly-found friendships after the workshop ended.

The mission of "Circle of Friends" is to make new acquaintances, refresh and keep the old, share the past, present and future as we move on physically, spiritually, and emotionally so that we can find a new appreciation for life.

Today, this social group has almost 80 members and meets at Weymouth Country Club, 3946 Weymouth Road, Medina, (except for the August picnic) on the second Tuesday of every month for dinner, a program, and, of course, to increase their circle of friends.  Dinner is $13  (payable at the time of each meeting) and reservations are not required.  Doors open at 5 p.m.

Dues are $12 each year. Dues are used to cover expenses for the annual summer picnic and the December Holiday Banquet.

There is always room in the circle for more friends!
