Hospice Fundraising

It truly takes a community to help a hospice provide services.  Throughout the year, Hospice of Medina County, The Robertson Bereavement Center, and Hospice of Medina County at The Inn host fundraisers to make it possible to offer hospice and bereavement services to everyone in need.

A terrific event ~

Andy Dunham, Treasurer of the Hospice Board of Trustees; Pat Stropko-O'Leary, Executive Director, Pat Spoerndle, Golfer Extraordinaire, & Charlie Kay, Board President

For the second year, Patrick Spoerndle, president of the Medina-based 7-D Marketing sponsored “100 for Hospice.” What that means is that
* 100 = the number of golf holes was played by Patrick Spoerndle on August 23, 2010
* 100 = the percentage of money raised that will go to Hospice of Medina County
* 100 = the percentage of your donation that is tax deductible.

Patrick Spoerndle continues to raise money for the new facility for Hospice of Medina County. To make a donation in support of Hospice of Medina County, contact Patrick at 330-721-8822 or send donations to 100 for Hospice, c/o 7-D Marketing, Inc, 345 State Road, Medina, OH 44256. Please make checks payable to Hospice of Medina County.

These are the two main fundraisers:

♦  LifeFest Dinner and Auction - Hosted in April, this lovely dinner and auction provides an exciting evening of friendship, fine dining, and a frenzy of bidding on both silent and live auction items.

The Light Up A Life" Program - There are several pieces of this holiday program that is focused around the holidays.  First, the program begins with a musical performance and candle light ceremony during Medina's Candle Light Walk.  Then, approximately ten holiday trees are illuminated throughout the season in locations across our service area.  Finally, for five weeks before Christmas, volunteers, employees, service organizations, and businesses staff holiday trees as SouthPark Mall in Strongsville and help shoppers write messages in memory or in honor of loved ones.  Donations are appreciated.

Over the years, many fundraisers have come from community members and organizations.  The wide scope of different fundraisers reflects the diversity of our community - high school class reunions that host auctions, a Night at the Races, all night dance-a-thons, fashion shows, 24-hour running marathons, a monetary donation at weddings instead of the traditional favors - the list goes on and on.

If you would like to talk about a fundraising idea to benefit Hospice of Medina County, The Robertson Bereavement Center, or Hospice of Medina County at The Inn, please contact Anna Guy-Leach, Promotions Liaison, at 330.723.2340, ext. 103 or email aguyleach@hospiceofmedina.org

Thank you!
