"100 for Hospice"

For the third year,
Medina business owner Patrick Spoerndle is turning his love of golf into an opportunity to raise money for Hospice of Medina County. On Monday, August 1, 2011, Spoerndle, president of 7·D Marketing, Inc., will play 100 holes of golf in one day at Fox Meadow Country Club to benefit the local nonprofit.
The fundraiser’s name “100 for Hospice” signifies the percentage of money raised that will go directly to Hospice of Medina County; the percentage of donations that is tax deductible; and the number of holes he will play in one day. As with the first “100 for Hospice,” Spoerndle has enlisted a small group of “Centurions” in the community who each will donate $1 per hole played and are currently recruiting others to do the same. He also counts on businesses and individuals who are inspired to support the fundraiser at any level.
When asked if he had any personal goals for the upcoming mega-round of golf he said, “I’d be thrilled to beat last year’s score, but far more importantly, I’m there to raise awareness and funding for the new HospiceCareCenter for this amazing organization.”
Anyone who would like more information or who wishes to donate to “100” for Hospice should contact Patrick Spoerndle directly at 330-721-8822 or send donations to “100 for Hospice,” c/o 7-D Marketing, Inc., 245 State Road, Medina, OH 44256. These are the two main fundraisers:

♦  LifeFest Dinner and Auction - Hosted in April, this lovely dinner and auction provides an exciting evening of friendship, fine dining, and a frenzy of bidding on both silent and live auction items.

The Light Up A Life" Program - There are several pieces of this holiday program that is focused around the holidays.  First, the program begins with a musical performance and candle light ceremony during Medina's Candle Light Walk.  Then, approximately ten holiday trees are illuminated throughout the season in locations across our service area.  Finally, for five weeks before Christmas, volunteers, employees, service organizations, and businesses staff holiday trees as SouthPark Mall in Strongsville and help shoppers write messages in memory or in honor of loved ones.  Donations are appreciated.

Over the years, many fundraisers have come from community members and organizations.  The wide scope of different fundraisers reflects the diversity of our community - high school class reunions that host auctions, a Night at the Races, all night dance-a-thons, fashion shows, 24-hour running marathons, a monetary donation at weddings instead of the traditional favors - the list goes on and on.
