Become a Volunteer
Our volunteer opportunities span a wide range of interests. After completing our training program, our Volunteer Coordinator will interview you to match you up with the area that best suits your skills and interests.
Direct Care Volunteers
Interact directly with patients and their families. Volunteers provide caring compassion by offering companionship, transporting patients to appointments or other outings, listening, playing cards, preparing meals, running errands, support the patient and their loved ones during the final hours of life's journey, staying with the patient to provide respite for the caregiver, provide friendly visits to patients and their families with your pet therapy dog, or whatever is needed to provide help and support.
Specifically Skilled Volunteers
Provide patients with services utilizing your professional license such as attorneys, hairstylists, massotherapists and notaries. Utilize your nursing degree to administer and read TB tests and facilitate Hands-On Care education.
Veterans Serving Veterans Volunteers
Provide supportive visits to veterans by listening and sharing military stories and participating in Veteran's Recognition Ceremonies?.
Provide invaluable assistance in an office setting, warehouse sales, resale shop and community outreach. Volunteers assemble packets, file, help with mailings, and assist with computer data entry.
Visit with patients at our residential facilities, in their own neighborhoods at nursing homes or assisted living facilities and assist staff at HMC Hospice of Medina County and Hospice of the Western Reserve offices.
Please contact Marie Jakubiec at 216.372.6400 for information about volunteer opportunities at HMC Hospice of Medina County, a Hospice of the Western Reserve affiliate.
